Cry Out

cry out

1 Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you! (Is. 64:1)

The idea that God would fix everything if only God was here is as old as human existence. Thankfully, we have the assurance the God not only hears our cries, but God actually did "rend the heavens and come down" in the person of Jesus. Yet there is still destruction, death, and pain.

There are barbers and beauty shops in every community, but everyone's hair is not cut or styled regularly. For various reasons everyone does not choose to utilize these services. God waits with open arms for all to turn from sin and open their hearts, minds, and lives to God, but all do not choose to turn to God. So sin, and the destruction it causes, remains.

But there's no need to loose hope. With the understanding that the God who is patient with us is also patient with all of those who have not yet to turn to God, we can cry out in faith - knowing that we are heard, understood, valued and cared for. We can trust that, in time, the light will overcome the darkness.

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

We can pray with confidence - thy kingdom come, thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.

9 Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,

that his glory may dwell in our land.

10 Love and faithfulness meet together;

righteousness and peace kiss each other.

11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,

and righteousness looks down from heaven.

12 The Lord will indeed give what is good,

and our land will yield its harvest.

13 Righteousness goes before him

and prepares the way for his steps. (Psalm 85:9-13)
